The Democrats need to pass legislation to require annual mental evaluations, from an accredited, registered, and FBI, CIA, ATF verified source, prior to being allowed to purchase OR own guns and body armor, OR even have guns and body armor in their home. Had such a federal, universal law existed, the AR-15 gun lied into Connecticut (by the NRA and its lobbyists), couldn't have been used or shared by a psychopath, Adam Lanza, after his conspiracy theory mother brought a weapon of mass destruction into her home, based upon lies and garbage she swallowed.
Body armor or tactical gear purchases alone by Salvador Ramos should have been a red flag, as he was planning for war. A war where? A war with parents trying to protect their children from him??? Start the sanity questions at purchase point!
If a mentally insane, domestic terrorist obtains and uses a gun, then hold the original gun seller, and every seller thereafter, accountable. Shut them down, end their comfort of profits made without regard for the safety of others, especially children.
You would have to be insane, if you believed the NRA when it sold AR-15's, into Connecticut as "sport/recreational guns," - where assault rifle-weapons of mass destruction were banned in Connecticut before the lie. What's the sport or recreation? Rapid pin the tail on the moving paper donkey? Protecting a drug lord atop a deserted mountaintop or an organized crime compound, that has taken over an entire city, with the actual cops (good guys with guns) locked out? 🤨
And while drafting this legislation, The Democrats should note that GOP opposes universal healthcare for psychiatric help. See homeless persons with mental health problems on any major city street.

GOP is really not for gun ownership for everyone.
"Whites only" has been the NRA's philosophy since Jim Crow. NRA never went campaigning door-to-door to non-whites during Jim Crow nor worked with African Americans, terrorized by white supremacists/kkk, to say, "your only defense against a bad guy with a gun is with a gun." Instead, the NRA worked hand-in-hand with kkk/white supremacists to ensure white supremacists were fully armed, at all times.
NRA has never had a black President, cannot have a black President of its entity. "No black President of NRA ever allowed" is part of the code of their white supremacist organization. If you ask NRA members about that, a propagandist for NRA will pull Charlton Heston out of their ass, because Heston marched with Dr. King, decades before needing financial help via the NRA. Therefore, the Democrats need to stop negotiating with persons who support our nation's oldest, domestic terrorist organization, the NRA, and start using the NRA and GOP's own words to pass legislation to show how much of a liar the NRA's mouthpiece, GOP, is.
If legislation for mental evaluations, prior to gun ownership and for current personal use gun ownership, especially for high capacity, rapid fire guns, is not passed by GOP, put their words and NO-votes on full display!
